If you suspect you have a virus, you can go to a website that will scan your PC online and report whether your PC is infected.
This site requires you to download an Active X control, which is a program that installs the scanning software on your PC, and requires you to say 'yes' to a security certificate.
As long as you read the certificate to make sure it comes from the website in question (Symantec) before you click the 'yes' button, the program should be safe to download.
Allow anything from 45-90 minutes for the scan to complete.
If a virus is detected, you have several options. You can manually remove the virus, use a virus removal tool, buy or update your anti-virus program and run a scan or, as a last resort, back-up your data and reformat your hard drive before re-installing your operating system. If you would like more information on these options, contact Brooklyn PC Clinic using 'Contact Us' on the Home Page or call us on 917.279.8313
Before you use this website's scanning option, you may wish to bookmark Brooklyn PC Clinic, as once you have clicked on the link below to run the scan, you will not be able to return to our site using the 'back' button on your browser.
